How to Create an NFT on Solana

A Solana NFT is an asset your wallet can hold: either a compressed leaf in a Merkle tree, a Metaplex Core asset, or a token mint with metadata. Solana Toolset can mint the first two. This page explains the difference so you open the right form.

What you need

NFT standards on Solana

Compressed NFT (Bubblegum)

The asset is a leaf in a Merkle tree. Minting is cheaper because you are not creating a full token account per NFT. Use Create an NFT. Read how compressed NFTs work if you need the tree and indexer details.

Metaplex Core

Core stores the NFT as one asset account inside a Core collection. Metaplex calls it a Core asset. Create the collection, then mint the Core NFT.

Token Metadata

The older standard is an SPL mint plus a metadata account. This site does not offer a one-click minter for that standard. Do not use the compressed or Core forms and expect a classic metadata account.

How to create one

  1. Connect the wallet that should own the NFT and pay the fee.
  2. Prepare the image and the name. Optional fields depend on the form: symbol, description, website, attributes, creators.
  3. Add metadata. The image and text are uploaded, and the NFT stores the URI.
  4. Set royalties only if that form shows a creator and seller-fee field. Core plugins are configured on the Core form, not on the compressed form.
  5. Submit and approve the transaction in the wallet.
  6. Confirm the asset address in the wallet or in the metadata viewer.

Cost, updates, collections, and burns

You cannot mint with zero SOL if the network requires a fee. “Free” on this site means the tool itself does not add a mint surcharge. Metadata lives at the URI the mint stored. Core assets are updated with Update Core NFT metadata. Compressed NFTs are not edited by that tool. A collection groups assets; create it before minting Core NFTs. Burning is a separate action on Burn NFTs.

NFT creation FAQ

Can I create an NFT on Solana without coding?
Yes. Create NFT mints a compressed NFT from the browser. Create Core NFT mints a Metaplex Core asset after you have a Core collection. Both ask your wallet to sign. You do not write a program.
Is it free?
The tools do not add a separate creation fee on these forms. You still pay Solana network fees and any storage upload. Compressed mints usually cost less than a full token-metadata mint. There is no fixed price on this page.
Which tool should I open?
Use Create NFT for a compressed (Bubblegum) NFT. Use Create Core Collection, then Create Core NFT, for a Metaplex Core asset. This site does not mint classic Token Metadata NFTs from a single “create NFT” button.
