Update Solana Token Metadata
Token metadata is what wallets and explorers show: name, symbol, image, and description. Updating it requires update authority on the metadata account (classic) or the Token-2022 metadata path this site supports.
Classic SPL updates
Use Update Classic Token. Paste the mint, load current fields, change what you need, and sign. Broken image URIs are a common reason tokens look blank in wallets — fix the URI, do not recreate the mint unless you must.
Token-2022 updates
Use Update Token-2022. Do not use the classic form for a Token-2022 mint.
Authorities vs metadata
Mint and freeze authority are not the same as metadata update authority. Revoking mint authority does not freeze the name. Revoking update authority freezes metadata edits.

Update Solana Token Metadata — FAQ
- Who can update metadata?
- The wallet that holds update authority for that metadata account. If update authority was revoked, the form cannot change name, symbol, or URI.
- Classic and Token-2022 use the same form?
- No. Use Update Classic Token for SPL + Metaplex metadata and Update Token-2022 for Token-2022 mints.
- Does update change supply?
- No. Metadata update does not mint or burn. Use Token Management for supply changes while mint authority remains.
